Jonas Prince

Education

After attending two years of the Commerce and Finance programme at the University of Toronto, Mr Prince attended Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB). He then completed a post-graduate degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science earning a Master of Laws degree (LLM). After being called to the Bar of Ontario Mr Prince joined a Toronto law firm where he became a partner and engaged in business law practice for over 12 years.

Mr Prince, as Chairman, is actively involved in all the activities within the Realstar Group. He divides his time between Toronto and London and takes the lead in hospitality and international matters.

Wayne Squibb

Education

Mr Squibb graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following graduation he moved to Toronto, joined a major bank, progressing through various senior jobs in domestic and corporate banking until he left in 1983. Mr Squibb apportions parts of his time to community activities and serves on the boards of numerous not-for-profit organizations.

Mr Squibb, as President and CEO, is involved in all activities within Realstar Group and takes the lead in the multi-family and manufactured housing sectors.

Ryan Prince

Professional Background

Prior to joining Realstar in 2002, Ryan co-founded iGabriel, an early-stage venture capital firm investing in European business. iGabriel subsequently merged with Pi Capital, one of the U.K.’s leading, early-stage investment groups. Prior to founding iGabriel, Ryan worked in various roles in the area of structured and corporate finance.

Ryan established the company’s London office in 2002. He was responsible for the firm's entry into the U.K. primary healthcare centre sector and played a key role in the acquisition of Realstar’s U.K. hotel portfolio. More recently spearheaded the firm's entry in the UK rental housing sector and has overall responsibility for Realstar’s U.K. and European-based activities.

Irwin Prince

Education

Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Toronto.

Professional Background

Irwin Prince is the president and chief operating officer of Realstar Hospitality, the master franchisor of Days Inn, Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in Canada.

When Realstar acquired the Days Inn license, the brand only had 19 locations in Canada. Irwin and his team have since grown the footprint to well over 110 locations coast to coast. Motel 6 and Studio 6 have just over 35 locations in Canada with plans for rapid growth across the country.

As a former Chair of the Hotel Association of Canada and one of the Board's longest-serving members, Prince is an active participant in all industry-related activities. He has participated in several hospitality panels as a recognized industry expert. Prince holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Toronto.
